Maithon (4 hrs)
Last Tuesday, a guest asked me which Princess yacht would handle twenty people comfortably without feeling like a sardine can - that's when I pointed them toward Sweet Lips, our Princess Yacht 78ft that makes group charters actually enjoyable. What we have found in Thai waters is that most boats claiming "luxury" pack guests like budget airlines, but this superyacht gives everyone proper space to breathe.
Your four-hour escape to Maithon Island from Phuket delivers exactly what those crowded longtail boats can't - privacy and comfort while exploring one of Thailand's most pristine islands. The hardest choice here is swimming in crystal-clear waters or lounging on the yacht's spacious deck (spoiler: you'll have time for both). Plus, in these Thai waters, Maithon remains refreshingly underdeveloped compared to Phi Phi's tourist circus.
In our Thailand experience, half-day charters work brilliantly for families or corporate groups wanting luxury without the full-day commitment. Worth noting about Thailand's weather patterns - even during monsoon season, tropical showers are brief and warm, adding authentic local flavor rather than ruining your day. The Princess Yacht 78ft handles twenty guests with multiple social areas, so conversations flow naturally without stepping on toes.
Smart tip: pack a waterproof bag for electronics, though honestly, you might be too busy enjoying Thailand's stunning coastline to use them. Perfect choice for your Thailand yacht charter when you want genuine luxury without the pretense.
